What's like to study Anthropology?

One of my main inspirations to been studying this career.

I am a student of Anthropology at the Universidad de Chile in the Social Sciences Faculty. I choose this career because it is the only way to be an Archaeologist in Chile, which is the career that I hope to choose the next year. That said, I choose that career because since I was a little boy I began to felt love for human History, and actually, I considered studying History, but then I realized that according to what I would like to do as a professional I would be happier as an archaeologist rather than a historian. As an archaeologist, I would love to learn about ancient cultures and their material culture, like their building and monuments, for example, I feel particularly interested in British ancient cultures.

Study this career online it is been such a weird process, lucky for me, these first two years of the career have not so many "live" experiences, so it is not so terrible to have only online classes, but anyway, be at my home all day is boring, and very often I feel that online classes are more overwhelming that physical classes because is like having more time to do all that my homework but at the same time to have so much time have made me procrastinate more than ever. I hope this end soon!

Post 5: My Future Job

Well, this is something that I have thought about for a long time. At least in this moment of my life, I imagine my job as an archaeologist as one that combines teaching at a University (hopefully an English one) and investigations, with all the travels that imply that. I would love to have the best of both worlds, which means to be in a nice University and a nice city, and at the same time, or with divided periods (like 6 months in the faculty and 6 in an outdoor place) being travelling to make investigations. So, if I had the chance I probably would not travel so much, but I would do it at least once a year. In terms of the salary, I can not give any numbers, because for me that is not a big deal, whenever the salary allows me to live comfortably and without many preoccupations, I would be more than satisfied.  Right now I am in the second year of the major of Anthropology at the Universidad de Chile, and in the future, I am planning to do a master in Archaeology at the Universid...

Post 7: Changes to my study program

- Here you can see a lovely photo of my faculty! Because I am just in the half of my second year of university, I can not talk so much about the changes that I would like to apply to my career, but I will do my best to tell certain things that I have thought about until this moment. First, I have thought that the curriculum generally speaking is fine, except for maybe one or two subjects that I truly believe are bad subjects. In our first semester of the career, we had one subject called: Leer, Escribir y Hablar en las Ciencias Sociales, as you may imagine this subject was meant to be a kind of introduction to university writing, something that could give us some basic knowledge to read and write in this new chapter of our education, well... let's say that basically, this subject was everything less that, it was just a complete mess and a waste of time and resources, if the faculty want to keep with this subject they will need to do something way better than this. Like I said befor...

England, the place for me

Since I was a little boy, I accidentally began to fell in love with England, the very first sign was my love for " The Beatles ", it was the first time that I felt so much passion for a musical group and for music in general, there was something hypnotizing in them which still today I can't explain, but what remains in me was the knowledge about all his history, history in which England is obviously an important part, and is because of that I started to dream about going to that country. But my path to the British culture didn't stop there, as a kid I also consume some important tv shows from that country, shows such as " Doctor Who ", which was probably the very first tv show I obsessed with. Later on, I remember I discovered " Mr Bean ", and " Sherlock" (the BBC series) which were very influential programs for me because they marked me and forged a big part of my personality, such as my kind of humour, or my perceptive and sceptical way...
